Volunteer Bookkeeper to maintain records of financial transactions for a small nonprofit by managing accounts; posting transactions; ensures legal requirements compliance.

Commitment:  1 year; approximately 15-20  hrs / month

Bookkeeper Responsibilities + Duties:

  • Record financial transactions (bank, stripe, check, etc.) based on chart of accounts.

  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.

  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.

  • Balances general ledger; reconciling entries.

  • Maintains historical backup data and records.

  • Prepares quarterly financial reports by updating Budget to Actual for chart of accounts.

  • Review monthly timesheets; submit to payroll and cut checks.

  • Stewardship; generates monthly contribution letters for donations of $250 or greater and issues to individual donors and corporate sponsors.

  • Year end annual review of vendor list and generate 1099 reporting.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.

Bookkeeper Skills and Qualifications:

Developing Standards, Analyzing Information, Reporting Research Results, Data Entry Skills, Accounting, SFAS Rules, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, Experience with Google Drive, Stripe and QuickBooks

Administrative Assistant

We are looking for Self-Motivated and Flexible, Volunteer Administrative Assistant to support the organization’s CORE Team clerical needs.

Commitment:  1 year; approximately  1-2 hrs / week

Administrative Job Responsibilities + Duties:

  • Drafting and sending mailings as needed by CORE Team via email and traditional mail.

  • Pickup traditional mail from PO Box (Highlands Ranch; located at Broadway & Highlands Ranch Pkwy) on a bi-weekly basis and deliver to Director of Operations located at STEM School (Highlands Ranch; located on Ridgeline).

  • Some Data entry

  • Some Filing

  • Manage merchandise inventory

  • Order and Track merchandise

  • Process marketing Materials

  • Coordinate expenses with Bookkeeper

  • Create and/or maintain documents

  • Create and maintain server filing system with CORE Team

Administrative Skills and Qualifications:

Developing Standards, Data Entry Skills, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality related to student information, Thoroughness, Experience with Google Drive including sheets, docs, etc.
